Fedor says fight with Brock Lesnar will “definitely take place sometime”
Despite signing with Strikeforce last month, Russian heavyweight, Fedor Emelianenko has stated that he will “definitely” square off with UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar at some point, saying he hopes to come to an agreement with the UFC.
Speaking on the most recent edition of Inside MMA, Fedor said:
“I think that this fight will definitely take place sometime. I hope that finally we'll find some common language with the UFC and we'll come to an agreement.”
Fedor also had a few words about his first opponent since signing with the California based promotion, Brett Rogers.
“Brett Rogers is in very strong physical shape. He has a great knockout punch and is very big and very dangerous.”
The constant merry-go-round between Fedor and the UFC looks like it will still continue despite him signing with Strikeforce. With a one year, three fight deal in place, expect speculation of new negotiations to begin early next summer.
