Nate Marquardt apologises to his fans following UFC 109 loss to Sonnen
UFC middleweight contender, Nate Marquardt has apologised to his fans following his disappointing loss last night at UFC 109 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Chael Sonnen, admitting he didn’t fight smart.
Posting via his blog site, Marquardt said:
“I’m so sorry guys. I didn't fight smart. I should have stopped the takedowns before going for the knock out. I'll learn from this and continue to work hard. Thank you all for your support.”
Marquardt was in touching distance of a rematch with middleweight champion, Anderson Silva before this one but will likely have to start all over again following this most recent set-back. The most surprising thing was his inability to stop the takedowns of Sonnen who was relentless throughout.
