Renato “Babalu” Sobral speaks about Affliction, Strikeforce and Mousasi

Former UFC star Renato “Babalu” Sobral is set to take on one of the toughest tests of his career when he fights DREAM champ Gegard Mousasi at Affliction: Trilogy. Coming up to his third Affliction show in three events, he seems to have found a new home with Affliction and Strikeforce, but is he happy with it?

In a recent interview with Fight Hype, Strikeforce light-heavyweight champ Renato Sobral reflects on his fighting career.

“I’ve been very happy, Tom (Atencio) is a fight too, so he understands how we feel, you know? He’s not just a suit guy that wants to promote the shows. He also wants to fight and for that reason, he takes care of the fighters.”

“Affliction and Strikeforce are partners, so they work well together and I will be ready to do battle for either company.”

“[In my next fight] I’m going to be very aggressive, use my game in this fight and try to finish this before the end.”

Renato “Babalu” Sobral is always aggressive and without a doubt a highly skilled competitor. He will give any fighter problems, and a fight with Gegard Mousasi is going to be one that fans all over the world will be clambering to see.
