ESPN still leading the pack in the race for UFC programming in the UK

It is understood that ESPN are still in pole position in the race to capture the rights to air UFC event live in the UK following the collapse of TV broadcaster, Setanta Sports last month.

According to the latest report by iFight365.com, an ESPN spokesman said:

“We continue to be interested in all rights including UFC, where they make business sense. But we have nothing to announce at this time.”

ESPN have also announced plans to launch a HD channel as a part of its monthly Pay-Per-View charge. It looks likely that fans of the UFC could be treated to watching the fastest growing sport in the world in high definition.
