UFC welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre will die inside the Octagon
Georges St. Pierre is one of the most dedicated mixed martial artists on the planet, a fact that should appear obvious given the relative ease at which he dispatches his opponents. Much like Samurai warriors past, you get the impression that he would find it an honour to die in battle.
Speaking in Dana White’s video blog, Georges St. Pierre speaks about his fighting philosophy.
“Man, I am going to die in the Octagon. [people] will be like, does that really make sense, dying for a sport? But when you are in it, you are in it. It’s my job.”
It’s not very often that it’s needed, but GSP probably has more heart than anyone out there. When he fought BJ Penn the first time he could barely see for the whole first round, took the damage because of it and came back to win. He suffered a severe groin injury in his fight with Thiago Alves but battled on to win, without a doubt Georges St. Pierre is a true warrior.
