Kimbo Slice: “You want that title around your waist, that's eventually the goal”

Dana White went on record as saying that Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson would never fight in the UFC unless he went through The Ultimate Fighter, a sentiment reiterated in the recent TUF 10 previews. Well Kimbo’s there now, but it seems he’s not really sure he wants it.

Speaking at the UFC Fan Expo last week, Ferguson speaks about his fighting career.

“The opportunity to be around all heavyweights, that just doesn’t happen. There’s a lot of gyms out here in the States, but none of them had as many heavyweights as we had at one time here.”

“I guess it’s safe to say I don’t mind being a gatekeeper. Eventually, you got something you want to get. A drive for something, you know what I'm saying? And I guess I'm still searching for that inner me, I'm still searching for something. Until I find it, and until my fire is done, I'm a fighter.”

“Eventually, you want that title around your waist, that's eventually the goal. But it don't happen, just line them up.”

Obviously it is not yet known what Kimbo’s success rate has been like on The Ultimate Fighter. I guess we will have to wait until the shows debut on September 16th to find out.
