Lorenzo Fertitta addresses the issue of team mates fighting in the UFC
There could have been so many excellent matches over the years if certain team mates would fight one another. The issue of team mates refusing to fight team mates in the UFC is one that has been raised a few times but never really addressed, until now.
In a recent Q & A session, Lorenzo Fertitta speaks about the issue of team mate vs team mate.
“At the end of the day, we are here to see fighters and we are here to see fights. If team mates don’t want to fight, then they are just going to have to go somewhere else. We don’t put up with that stuff. That’s just the way it is. You step up. You’re a UFC fighter and I don’t care who it is, you have to fight.”
There are certain match ups over the years that could have been made, and had the potential to be unbelievable fights, Rashad Evans vs Keith Jardine and Jon Fitch vs Josh Koscheck for example. However given Lorenzo’s comments, that could all be about to come to fruition.
